This Course is designed for the learner to explore software development concepts and subject areas that may interest them in future programmes or employment.  This course is oftern used by students as a preparatory course for progression to third level.

Students interested in attending a Third Level College may avail of this option through the Higher Education Links Scheme.  Students who successfully complete this programme have entry level job opportunities available to them in the IT sector.

Entry Requirements

Ordinary Level Leaving Certificate/Leaving Certificate Applied or equivalent.  Applications are welcome from mature students.  Ordinary Level Leaving Certificate Mathematics together with analytical/problem solving skills is desirable. All entry is subject to interview.

Applicants will be asked for one written reference, copy EU Passport or GNIB card or Irish Residence Permit or Labour Market Permission letter

For applicants whose first language is not English, evidence of English language proficiency may be required.  If appropriate, Whitehall College of Further Education will conduct an English language assessment.
