Career Guidance and Counselling

Whitehall College offers a professional Career Guidance and Counselling service to all students. It is a confidential service, aiming to help each student to get the most from their time here in the college.

CAREER GUIDANCE:

As students come to the end of their programme it is necessary to look at and plan for the future, whether this is into employment or applying for other educational programmes. The Guidance Counsellor can help with making these decisions and can provide programme information, the application process for 3rd level colleges, time management, study skills and preparation for the world of work.

COUNSELLING:

Beginning PLC programmes can be a stressful and anxious time for many, whether as a mature student returning to education after a long time or for students who have just completed their Leaving Certificate. The Guidance Counsellor can help you with this and many other issues including - personal issues, family or relationship issues, self-esteem and confidence issues, bereavement, stress, depression, addictions and other issues as they arise. Confidentiality is assured and no personal issue will be discussed with anyone else without the permission of the student.

The Guidance Counselling Service is supported by the CDETB Psychological Service.
