LEVEL 5 CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATION AND TRAINING (EETXX) ONE YEAR

This course is being delivered collaboratively with Whitehall College of Further Education and Dublin City University (DCU). Two modules will be taught in DCU at First Year Degree Level.

The course aims to provide a foundation for students who wish to progress to the Degree in Education and Training in DCU.

• Social and Personal Development and Communications Skills
• Communications
• General Studies - An Appropriate Approved Module
• Vocational Practice

3 modules from the following list:

• Legal Studies
• Early Childhood Education
• Human Growth and Development
• Social Studies
• Word Processing
• The Internet
• Safety and Health at Work
• Care Provision and Practice

 

Certification

FETAC/NCVA Level 5 Certificate in Education and Training Award.

 

Entry Requirements

Leaving Certificate/Leaving Certificate Applied or equivalent.
Applications from mature students are welcome. All entry is subject to interview.

 

Progression/Employment

Successful students of this course will automatically gain direct entry to the first year of the degree course - BSC in Education and Training (Honours) in DCU.

In addition students may be eligible to apply to other Third Level Colleges through the Higher Education Links Scheme.

The course also prepares students for entry to employment in a range of settings.
