LEVEL 6 CHILDCARE SUPERVISOR AWARD (DCXXX) 2 YEAR DAY RELEASE

This course is designed to meet the needs of those currently working in the field of childcare. Topics covered will include management skills, legislation, practical caring skills and educational philosophies.

The focus is to assist those working in childcare to develop personally, professionally and academically and to upgrade current qualifications.

  • Child Development
  • Early Childhood Programmes
  • Social and Legal Issues in Childcare
  • Supervision in Childcare
  • Two appropriate FETAC Level 5 modules
    or 1 FETAC level 6 locally developed module

Entry Requirements

FETAC/NCVA Level 5 or its equivalent. Applicants must be currently employed in a childcare facility.

Two references relevant to childcare are required. Selection will be made subject to individual and group interview.

Progression/Employment

Successful students will be eligible to apply for supervisory positions in childcare settings and may access further educational opportunities.
