LEVEL 5 COMMUNITY CARE AWARD (DCHCC) ONE YEAR

This course combines theoretical and practical training in the four broad areas of childhood, adolescence, disabilities, and older people enabling successful students to gain employment in the healthcare field.

Entry Requirements

Ordinary Leaving Certificate/Leaving Certificate Applied. All applicants must have two references relevant to social care and are subject to individual and group interview. Applications are welcome from mature students with relevant experience.

 

Progression/Employment

Students will acquire the skills necessary to take up employment as care assistants in a variety of healthcare settings.

Through the selection of the elective modules students may also qualify for employment as a personal assistant in a range of care settings.

Students may be eligible to apply to Third Level Colleges through the Higher Education Links Scheme.
