business & finance ...LEVEL 5 BUSINESS STUDIES AWARD (BBSXX) ONE YEAR This course offers up to three subjects from the Joint Financial Services Diploma (run jointly by The Institute of Bankers in Ireland and University College Dublin) along with a high level of computer skills. This course will enable students to obtain employment in the Financial Services Industry. Course Content
Certification FETAC/NCVA Business Studies Award Entry Requirements Leaving Certificate, five passes including Ordinary Level Mathematics and English. The Institute of Bankers requires matriculation standard for progression to Bachelor of Financial Services degree. All entry is subject to interview.
Progression/Employment Students will acquire the skills necessary to take up employment in the Banking or general Financial Industry sectors. Many of our students who have completed this course have gone on to work for some of the major banking and insurance companies e.g. AIB, Bank of Ireland or firms in the Financial Services Centre in Dublin. Students may be eligible to apply to Third Level Colleges through the Higher Education Links Scheme. Students have progressed from this course to Institute of Technology in Dublin, Blanchardstown, Tallaght, Dundalk and NCI. The course fees include the cost of three Institute of Bankers Manuals. Any student who wishes to sit the Institute of Bankers exams must pay membership plus exam entry fees separately. Please note that the combination of modules outlined above may be subject to revision.
